Our In-Line gear reducer takes advantage of many years of accumulated design expertise, together with the use of high quality materials and components. The end result is a series of gear reducing gearboxes and gear motors offering high load carrying capacity, high efficiency, quiet running and reliability.

Reductor paralelo

The Series K geared motor is designed with integral cast feet for base or end mounting and can be offered with single or double extended output shafts. Units are also available shaft mounted or with output flanges and are available for mounting horizontally or vertically. The units can also be offered with a bolt on torque reaction bracket and all variants are available either motorised or with an input shaft assembly.

he David Brown worm gear range comes in Single Reduction worm gears which are based on a single universal case for each size, giving a high degree of common parts and interchange ability. Our Double Reduction worm gears are ideal for fitting to slow moving machinery and are constructed using two single reduction worm gear units connected together.

David Brown worm gears are also available for washdown environments and can also be shaft mounted units which are directly mounted to the driven shaft dispensing with connecting couplings and baseplates . The standard and Heavy Duty worm gears are ideal for stirrer and cooling tower units where a larger lower bearing and increased shaft size are needed to add extra unit capacity and absorb higher shaft and bearing loads.

Our worm gear units have a compact design with high torque capacity. Series BS can be sold as a gearbox or complete geared motor. These units have proven very reliable in tough applications again and again.

Worm Gear Series ABS

Series BS Worm Gear

For tough applications such as wash down environments, we guarantee that our Environmental Solution will not peel. This solution allows you to have anti-corrosive protection similar to a stainless steel gearbox at a much lower cost.

Leak Free and Tough

  • Proven to be leak free, unit comes lubricated and sealed.
  • High torque in a small space allows BS to be used in tight spaces, better utilizing your machine space.
  • Designed with smooth surfaces which are ideal for wash down environments such as food and beverage facilities

Our series A junior worm gear range is offered in unit sizes 280, 410, 510, 610, 730 and 860 based on a single universal case for each size, giving a high degree of common parts and interchange ability.

Units can be mounted in the under driven, over driven and vertical mounting positions and provide a choice of shaft arrangements for either motorised or reducer versions. Motors can be close coupled in various frames and powers.

Worm Gear Series AJ

Series AJ Worm Gear

All units are designed with hollow output bores, output shafts can be fitted allowing handing to be changed without dismantling the unit. Double extended output shafts are also available.

Series A Junior gives a choice of 10 ratios from 5/1 to 70/1 and important features include high efficiencies and load carrying capacities combined with long life and reliability. All units are lubricated for life to reduce maintenance to a minimum.

Our fully metric range of Series AM worm gear units are based on a single universal case for each size, giving a high degree of common parts and interchange ability.

Under-driven, over-driven and vertical types provide a choice of shaft arrangements in meeting the requirements of a wide variety of applications in the medium power range up to 75 kW.

Worm Gear Series AM

Series AM Worm Gear

All units are designed with hollow output bore, output shaft can be fitted allowing handing to be changed without dismantling the unit. Series A Mid Range gives a choice of 12 standard ratios from 5/1 to 70/1 and important features include high efficiencies and load carrying capacities combined with long life and reliability in service.

Double Reduction Units (worm/worm)

These units consist of a standard single reduction unit with a smaller shaft mounted unit fitted to the input shaft. The three smallest sizes are fitted with shaft mounted Series A Junior units whilst the size 2002 is fitted with a size 1002 (C07 when motorised). The range extends the ratios available up to the maximum of 4200/1 making them ideal for fitting to slow moving machinery.

As with the single reduction units they are available in under-driven, overdriven and vertical types, foot mounting and shaft mounting.

The AH worm gear range is offered in 3 basic unit types. Under-driven worm, over-driven worm and vertically mounted with output shaft. The units provide power capacity up to 839 kW in 6 sizes from size 10 to size 24 with worm gear centres from 254mm to 609mm.

All are offered with a choice of 14 standard ratios from 5:1 to 70:1. Motorised versions of all units are also available.

Worm Gear Series AH

Series A Heavy Worm Gear

All units are fitted with high capacity taper roller bearings for generous overhung loads, position action oil seals, oil level sight glass and drain holes. Flange mounted units with vertical downshaft have drywells fitted as standard to eliminate a head of oil on the low speed shaft seal and prevent oil leakage. Upper and lower speed shaft bearings are grease lubricated when drywells are fitted. All units can be supplied with holdbacks. Shaft extensions can be supplied with metric or inch dimensions.

Double Reduction Units (worm/worm)

Double reduction worm units are constructed using two single reduction worm gear units connected together. All options of unit type and variant are available in double reduction with standard ratios extended to 4,200:1.

The world famous Radicon worm gear speed reducers can trace their origins back to the early 1900's when David Brown fitted its first standard production unit fitted with a 'patent' worm gear.

It wasn't until 1933 that David Brown adopted the name RADICON to the worlds first fan cooled worm gear unit, being derived from the three principles of heat dissipation used in the basic design - RADiation Induction CONvection.

Radicon! World Famous Gearboxes

So successful has the radicon range of products been, that the name has emerged as the generic term for worm gear speed reducers throughout the world.

Although the name remains the same today, the product certainly has not. David Brown's reputation for engineering integrity, product quality and reliability has been founded on a policy of continuous research and development.

Since 1920 each new design heralded a major step forward in design, innovation and performance standards when first introduced just as the new Radicon Series A Grandmaster does today.
